About
Illberg is the musical child of Alexander Bergil, a song writer and instrumentalist from the west coast of Sweden. Straight-forward but delicate, with melodies swiveling above it all, the music sounds at times as if it longs for eastern lands.
Alexander has played music since high school and have since become a guitar-playing bassist/vocalist with a fondness for percussion and piano. Illberg, however, is a fairly new concept. Risen from the ashes of Green Bells, Illberg was created as a new start for Alex’s own music. Having been playing in various bands for years, firstly as a bassist, the songwriting had turned into a pastime musical activity, band-playing being the fulltime one.
When all the bands eventually were cremated and buried in the late 2000’s band-graveyard, hosted by myspace & friends, the songwriting became at the center of attention. With songs piling up, an EP seemed unavoidable, and thus, Illberg came to life.
